Gymly respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it when you use the Gymly app and related services.

1. What information do we collect?

We may collect the following information:

Information you provide:

• Name or username
• Email address
• Profile information
• Profile photos or other content you choose to upload
• Workout data, exercises, sets, repetitions and weights
• Check-ins and activity
• Comments, likes and other social interactions

Automatically collected information:

• Device information
• App usage and interaction data
• Location information when you use location-based features

Location data

Gymly may access precise location data when you use location-based features.

We use location data to:

• Verify that you are at the selected gym when you check in
• Show nearby gyms and location-related map features
• Support automatic check-out when you leave the gym area during an active workout

During an active workout, Gymly may access your location in the background, including while the app is closed or not actively in use, in order to support automatic check-out.

Exact latitude and longitude coordinates used for these features are processed on your device and are not intentionally stored by Gymly's backend for this flow.

Gymly may store derived information, such as your distance from the gym and related check-in session metadata, on our servers.

Gymly does not use your location data for advertising.

2. How do we use your data?

We use your data to:

• Provide, operate and improve Gymly
• Create and manage your account
• Enable workout tracking and check-ins
• Verify gym proximity for location-based check-ins
• Show nearby gyms and map-related features
• Support automatic check-out during active workouts
• Enable social features
• Display check-ins, workouts and activity you choose to share
• Maintain app stability, security and performance
• Prevent misuse and protect our users
• Comply with applicable legal requirements

We only use location information for Gymly features that require location access. Location information is not used for advertising.

3. Data sharing and service providers

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not share your personal data with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.

We may use trusted service providers to operate Gymly, including providers that support hosting, databases, infrastructure, notifications, maps and other technical functionality.

For example, Gymly uses Supabase to provide backend and database infrastructure. Certain information, such as account information, workout and check-in data, and derived check-in information such as distance from a gym, may be processed or stored through these services.

Exact latitude and longitude coordinates used for Gymly's check-in verification and automatic check-out flow are not intentionally stored in Gymly's backend.

We may also disclose information where required by law or where necessary to protect the rights, safety or security of Gymly, our users or others.

4. Data retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to provide Gymly, maintain your account and services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

The retention period may depend on the type of information and why it was collected.

You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to information we may be required to retain for legal or legitimate operational reasons.

5. Your choices and rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:

• Access your personal data
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Request a copy of your data
• Restrict or object to certain processing
• Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

You can choose not to grant location permission. However, features that require location, such as location-based check-in, nearby gyms or automatic check-out, may not function correctly without it.

You can manage location permissions through your device settings.

6. Data security

We use appropriate technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, loss or misuse.

However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

7. Children

Gymly is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under this age. If we become aware that such information has been collected, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

8. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Gymly's features, data practices or legal requirements change.

When we make material changes, we may provide notice in the app or through other appropriate means.

The date at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when it was last updated.
